The New Virginians Club Meeting

Wednesday, June 12 2024

at The Place At Innsbrook

Reservation Deadline—Wednesday, June 5, at Noon

Let's Have Some Fun with the

“COMMUNITY UKESTERS’

Over a decade ago when experts told us what we all knew—music is good for us and singing is fun, a ukulele festival, UKEFEST VA, was held at the Cultural Arts Center in Glen Allen.

Overnight the ukulele became cool, and word spread that the uke was fun and easy to play. Thus began the Ukesters with a few folks humming and strumming. Today the group has mushroomed to a boisterous band of 20-plus. Mostly senior citizens with bold baritones, lovely choral voices, and a few warbling women complete the sound of the Old Standards, Country, Gospel, Doo Wop, and Rock & Roll. To amplify the three-chord strummers are a few very accomplished musicians on guitar and bass. Our Music Director is Bob Wadsworth. When the Ukesters perform they are hoping for an enthusiastic audience who also knows—music is good for us and singing is fun.

The New Virginians Club Meeting
Wednesday, December 13, 2023
at Hermitage Country Club
Reservation Deadline—Wednesday, December 13, at Noon

Join us for our Annual Holiday Luncheon and Auction! The proceeds will go to this year’s charity, Positive Vibe Foundation (PVF) which provides hands-on training and meaningful employment in food services to individuals with physical and developmental disabilities.

In addition to the luncheon, we will have two auctions: a silent auction and a raffle. We will also have grab bags filled with great items for sale. Remember to bring small denomination bills for the grab bags and change to feed the hungry piggies at each table. Also, remember to bring your return address labels to put on your tickets! And last, but not least, don’t forget to bring your holiday spirit! The auction is always fun. We’ll have holiday décor, good food, friendly chat, and SHOPPING! Plan to attend and bid on your favorite items with your New Virginians friends. Let’s ring in the holidays with JOY!

Who are the New Virginians?

The New Virginians is a women’s social club of over 300 members in the greater Richmond area. It is a mix of ladies new to the area and ladies that have been in the area for a while! Married or single, we’ve had careers in business, education, interior design, sales, medicine, and government, to name just a few. We’ve created homes and raised families all over the world. As New Virginians, we enrich each others’ lives with our varied interests, talents, and experience.
